His influence spans radio, live events, cultural movements, and community outreach.

He is known in the DMV (DC, Maryland, Virginia) region as the “DJ that saved Go-Go,” a tribute to his years of dedication to keeping the music thriving, relevant, and respected.

DJ Supa Dan has been actively involved in efforts to preserve Go-Go’s place in DC’s heritage. His work intersects with major cultural milestones, such as performances at historic events that celebrate Go-Go’s official designation as the official music of Washington, DC—a status affirmed by city legislation in 2020. Supa Dan was featured prominently during the signing celebrations and community events that highlighted Go-Go’s deep roots in the city’s identity.

Under his leadership, WeAreGoGoMusic.com has evolved into much more than a website—it’s a 24/7 Go-Go destination featuring multiple Go-Go radio stations, curated shows (including the Supa & Supa Midday Show), exclusive music, event coverage, cultural insights, and opportunities for fans and artists to connect. The platform supports both the legendary sounds of classic bands and fresh music from today’s innovative Go-Go artists.  Through strategic collaborations, radio programming, and digital content, DJ Supa Dan continues to champion the legacy of Go-Go, ensuring that the genre stays alive for future generations. His work celebrates not just the music itself, but the cultural heartbeat of Washington, DC.

Honoring Legacy & Community Leaders

The awards didn’t just spotlight music — they also recognized the leaders, advocates, and visionaries who have championed Go-Go for decades. Community figures, cultural promoters, and public officials were acknowledged for their contributions in preserving and elevating the genre. DC’s Mayor was in attendance, highlighting the city’s ongoing support for Go-Go as an official cultural asset while celebrating its global reach from humble neighborhood beginnings to worldwide recognition.

Emerging Talent & Future Forward Vibes

Alongside the legends, the 2026 Go-Go Music Awards shined a spotlight on emerging bands and fresh voices, reaffirming that the genre continues to grow through new generations. One breakout moment came as Major League Band, hailing from nearby Fredericksburg, took home Breakout Band of the Year, a milestone moment for the group and a clear sign that the future of Go-Go is vibrant and expansive.

A Sold-Out Success & Cultural Milestone

The event’s sold-out status and overflowing enthusiasm demonstrated not just the enduring popularity of Go-Go — but its cultural significance and unity as a community movement. Fans lined up outside hours before doors opened, brimming with pride and eager to celebrate the music that has defined DC for half a century. The atmosphere was electric, reflective of Go-Go’s foundational role in local culture and collective identity.
